Sorbent Technologies Inc Cellulose 300 PEI TLC Plates, polyester backed, 100um, 20x20cm, 25/pk
Cellulose 300 PEI, polyester backed TLC plates contain fibrous cellulose impregnated with polyethyleneimine. The coating thickness is 100um and dimensions are 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Applications include: analysis of nucleic acids, and of mutagenic substances with the 32P post-labelling procedure (see Sorbtech Application No. 402260.) Cellulose ion exchange layers are suited for the separation of substances with exchange-active groups. Consequently they are used for the separation of amino acids, peptides, enzymes, nucleic acid constituents (nucleotides, nucleosides) etc. PEI is not a chemically modified cellulose, but a complex of cellulose and poly- ethyleneimine. PEI cellulose is a relatively strong anion exchanger. PEI layers should be stored in a refrigerator at 4C. An important application of CEL 300 PEI is the analysis of mutagenic substances with a 32P postlabelling procedure.

"Silica G" is a standard grade, unmodified Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical soft layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 2.5x7.5cm. There are 500 plates per pack.
Sorbent Technologies Inc Silica w/Concentration Zone (Silica 60 with diatomaceous earth zone) TLC Plates, Channeled, w/UV254, glass backed, 250um, 20x20cm, 25/pk
This TLC plate contains a layer with channels. Each channel has two adsorbent zones. The Channel-plate has 19 channels which help to prevent cross contamination of samples. The first zone is a standard grade Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The second zone is diatomaceous earth. This zone is completely inert towards a large number of compounds. The samples always form a narrow band at the interface of the two adsorbents, irrespective of shape, size or position of the spots in the concentrating zone. Separation then takes place in the silica gel zone. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical hard layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack.

Alumina Neutral (pH 6-8) with UV254, analytical, aluminum backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 200um and dimensions are 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Applications include: terpenes, alkaloids, steroids, aliphatic and aromatic compounds. To ensure sufficient adherence an inert organic binder is added to the aqueous suspension for coating. The aluminum oxide layer has a specific surface of about 200 m2/g (BET) and a pore size of about 60A. To activate the aluminum oxide layer, we recommend heating the TLC plates for 10 minutes at 120C.

This thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate comprises a C2 Silica layer. It can be developed with purely organic, organic/aqueous and purely aqueous eluents. Thus the phase finds numerous applications in normal phase chromatography as well as in the reversed phase mode. The relative polarity of the eluent determines the polarity of the layer. The Silica 60 has a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, particle size of 5-17um, and pH stability of 2-10. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. The UV-absorbing substances appear as dark-blue to black spots on a light - blue background. This analytical layer is bound to an aluminum support. Alumina Acid for TLC has a pH of about 4.5, particle distribution of 5-25um, and a quantity of 1kg. When combined with a binding agent, this alumina can be used for the making of analytical TLC plates. It can also be used in a packed column format for extra high resolution.
